Michael J. Harrington
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Harrington brings more than three decades of experience across institutional
investment management and capital markets. His career includes senior roles at Northern
Trust (2001–2007), William Blair (2007–2013), JPMorgan Chase (2013–2023), and Nuveen
(from 2023), where he focused on investment strategy, client outcomes, and disciplined
portfolio construction.
Mr. Harrington earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania's
Wharton School (1991) and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business
(1995). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder. As CEO of Build Financial
Assets, he leads the firm's mission to deliver long-term, sustainable value through
diversified strategies, rigorous research, and prudent risk management.
Robert Ellery
COO
Mr. Ellery has more than twenty years of operating experience across financial
services and technology. Before joining Build as COO, he led operations and product
initiatives at regional and national wealth platforms, with a focus on scaling client
service, compliance workflows, and data-driven decision support.
Mr. Ellery earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan
and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He is based
in Denver.
Daniel Reeves
Co-Founder, CIO, CFO
Prior to co-founding Build, Mr. Reeves spent over a decade in investment research and
corporate finance roles across asset management and institutional banking. His work
has centered on portfolio construction, credit analysis, and capital allocation for
long-horizon investors.
Mr. Reeves holds a master's degree in finance from Columbia University and a
bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a
Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder and lives in Denver with his family.
